[Gundam: Part One]

I like the Gundam Universe as well

But I think that when you attempt to pay homage to a franchise like Gundam, you'd better be able to back it up with something solid. Now I will never slag anyone who's into Gundam, but I will also never slag anyone who hates Gundam. Why? Because we are all entitled to our opinions. Now it's fine that you ripped graphics of the Gundam Mobile Suits straight from the Gundam Wing Endless Duel SNES game, but since you did that, you should be able to come up with something entirely original in terms of storyline. If I wanted to see Gundam Wing, I'll watch the DVD's and Video Tapes. I don't want to see recycled graphics or a storyline from a video game/Series that I've played and watched already. Please put more effort into your project next time, and don't ask people to vote high. It's as if you know your movie is going to be bad. You got a 5 for the graphics because the Gundam Mobile Suit Sprites are really nicely designed, even though YOU didn't draw them yourself. For the sound, you got a 5 because the 'live' version of the Gundam Wing theme song was included. For style, you got a 1. Why? It's not that hard for someone to rip graphics from a game, and then re-use them on Flash, plus your storyline is recycled. The scores for violence, interactivity, and humor are all self explanatory.

Another view at war......and the price we pay

When I first started watching this short Flash video, I thought it was going to be a hokey little song w/ a lame storyline. Now I know better. After watching the whole thing, I was compelled by the true meaning of the entire video; In war, the soldiers of all sides at war have lives. Lives beyond war.... Lives beyond being soldiers. They have normal lives and people who care for them dearly, regardless of the things that they have done. While there was not too much animation in this short video, it just goes to show that animation is not always needed to bring a powerful message across. As the old saying goes: "A picture is worth a thousand words..." To me, this video is priceless.

Now this is GREAT animation!

OrtizAnimationZ..... This name will truly become a household name in the history of Flash Movies. Everything about this short film is good. The Animation is definitely top-notch, and some of the smoothest I've ever seen for a Flash film, and the sound and musically totally fit the feel of the film. I really can't wait to see the ENTIRE film! It's definitely going to be worth the wait.

Well, at least the old man is a mack (WHY?)

Okay, the only major thing that this Flash movie has going for it is the fact that it uses a Beatles song. The animation is okay, but the character is simply animated and it just gets boring watching him do the same shit. The other good part was the digitzed pic of that chick. However, I couldn't tell who she was, although she kinda reminded me of Daisy Fuentes. How could an old man like this get a piece of ass like that? What's his secret? Oh, I know, the little itty bitty pill that's starts with a V and ends with an A.

One of the best Flash Tributes EVER!

Now being a really big fan of The Transformers obviously makes me biased in my review, but I have seen people trying to make tributes that are not definitely as good as this one. First off, let's talk about the animation. I really like Mr. Ortiz's character design. Every character that he renders in Flash has a serious, but comic book/anime/funky look to them. It adds flair to the whole visual interpretation. I was completely in awe when I saw Optimus Prime duke it out with long time nemesis Megatron. The colors were vibrant, and totally on the money. It kind of reminded me of an old Transformers episode where Optimus Prime had fought Megatron in close melee weapon based combat, with Optimus wileding a Laser Axe, and Megatron having control of a Laser Flail. Near the end of that episode, Optimus ended up taking Megatron's primary arm-cannon but he didn't shoot Megatron with it, he just scared him off. (Ahh....Those were the days) Anyhow, as for the other aspects of this Flash movie, the sound and music were all excellent. I really liked the remixed/covered version of The Transformers theme song. Techno-ed out, and updated for a new generation. All the sounds from Megatron's arm cannon were there, and all of the sound in general was very loud for being just a Flash movie. Almost CD quality audio could be heard from this particular movie! I am very impressed by all the effort that Mr. Ortiz has put into this Flash movie. Within due time, Mr. Ortiz can only get even better than he is now, because right now, he has shown us that it IS possible to make a really good short film!
