"It's been a long time since I had a good laugh."
What a surprise. That's a pretty keen 'optical illusion' with a humorous twist. I got a good laugh from this. Anyway, I certainly hope this passes. I'm also looking forward to what else you can come up with. Good work.

I have more ideas already, I'm just waiting to see how this does first. Thanks for the review.

As a longtime fan of "Lion Force" Voltron, I can honestly say that this is the first time I have ever seen a 'kid', 'SD' or 'chibi' version of "Lion Force" Voltron. You have not only reminded me of how good and historic this legendary character is, but you've also entertained me by producing such an original piece of work based on one of my favorite 'robot' characters. You've managed to capture the light-heartedness and humor of anime series like "SD Gundam" but have managed to keep the serious aspect of what made "Lion Force" Voltron so great. I look forward to your next flash and the further adventures of "Kid Voltron". Perhaps you'd be willing to have "Vehicle Force" Voltron make an appearance as well?

"An AWESOME re-make of one of the best SHMUP games."
I seriously couldn't believe that it could ever be done, but Go0gley has finally made good on his previous promises; to re-create the sheer experience that makes the "Raiden" video game (SHMUP) series as fun as it can be. ------
Staying true to the original game series' roots, Go0gley has not only managed to re-capture and re-create the magic of several of the "Raiden" games, but he even went as far as paying tribute to the series by using the original music from the games. None of that 're-mixed' music here, just the original sound effects and music tracks from the legendary "Raiden Project" PS1 game.
GRAPHICS: Although this is somewhat of a remake of the "Raiden Project"/"Raiden DX" games for the PS1, Go0gley has not 'cheated' by simply porting over in-game vehicle sprites directly from the "Raiden" games. Each and every sprite in this game is re-drawn and animated from scratch. The detail even goes as far as having the Raiden Ship's shadow being cast on the ground below.
SOUND: In a true tribute fashion, the original music and sound effects from the "Raiden Project" PS1 game are present, albeit in a lower sampling rate. Some new sound effects were added as well and only enhance the game even more.
INTERACTIVITY: This is where the game really shines. Usually, Flash based SHMUP games are plagued with either bad controls or controls which are just not responsive to the on-screen action. This is not the case with "Raiden X". The controls are not only mega responsive, but for us SHMUP veterans, Go0gley was kind enough to let us breathe a bit easier by having the Raiden Fightercraft shoot it's guns on full-auto.
OVERALL: If you're a hardcore SHoot eM' UP fan, you WILL be in gameplay heaven, as this rendition of "Raiden" will not only surprise you, but will probably surpass any of your expectaions that you might have in regards to "Flash Re-makes" of arcade/console video games. What's even more convenient is that Go0gley was considerate enough to offer players the option to 'save' their game progress at the end of each level. I'm not only impressed, but amazed at how well this game plays. DEFINITELY one of my top 10 Flash Games. What else can I say except, EXCELLENT WORK.

From the Contra music covers, to the overall feel of the movie, it brought back so many memories of the original NES game. Excellent work! I'll cut the review short and just say.... "If you're a fan of the NES game 'Contra', WATCH THIS MOVIE IMMEDIATELY!"

From the introduction, to the actual feature itself, I was laughing quite a bit. Even at the 'press play' screen, there was already that goofy looking likeness of Arnold. Once the feature started, I was laughing quite hard at the subtitles, especially when it brought up the 'strange Arnold scream'. Excellent work. MGS3 and Arnold spoofs are always funny, but this one is definitely up there.

"I'm surprised somebody even remembers this game!"
I thought I was the only one in this world who probably played this game and enjoyed it back in 92'. Back then, this was one of those 'underground' SNES titles which was quite hard to find, but I was lucky enough to rent this great game and beat it within 2 days.
It's great to know that there's actually someone else out there that liked this game, especially enough to make a decent flash movie to spoof it.
Graphics: 6 - I'm not really too big of a fan of 'sprite' based flash films, but I was quite impressed by how you managed to capture and eventually animate the characters to move just like their video game counterparts.
Style 8 - Anyone that can make a decent flash film out of a subject that was underrated will get high points from me. (Even more if it brought back a bit of nostalgia in my eyes)
Sound 8 - KMFDM? GREAT CHOICE! What got me though, is that you ripped the actual music from the game. (Those were some catchy tunes, weren't they?)
Violence 2 - There was a cameo from a Metroid, as well as the subject of 'Kendo', which involves hitting an opponent with a shinai/bokken stick.
Interactivity 0 - All I did was press 'play', so this shouldn't really apply.
Humor 7 - I got a couple of laughs from each of the situations that our beloved heroine had encountered.
Overall 7 - Anyone that pays tribute to old, underrated video games in the form of a decent flash film will get high marks from me. Good work. Hopefully you'll be making more "Kendo Rage" flash films.
Author's Response:
Thank you very much. I appreciate getting responces that have thought put into them. Although the animation of Jo was kinda off, and missing a lot of frames. Something i wish, in retorospect, i had put more priority on making it look correct.
The music in that game is some of my favorites. I often found myself humming "Cliff Hanger" before. hehe. The intro was neat i thought. KMFDM is one of my favorite groups ever, so i couldn't resist putting them in my first movie.
As far as humor it seems that either people think that the humor in this move was funny (becuase of the unexpected nature of the cameos) or they thought it was lame... I actually think that the truth lies somewhere in the middle ^_^;; Somewhere between funny and kinda lame. I could have done more with it, i think.
Lastly, if I do make another Kendo Rage movie, it'll probably be better than this one is.

Man, not only do you own a cool website but you also write songs about the things that just elude us. I too, have yet to beat Pac-Man, but your song just inspires me to keep going at it. I feel your pain, man. I feel your pain. Preach it brother! Oh, my review: Graphics- Very, very well drawn. Totally fit the song perfectly. Sound- Sheeeeeit. This is the best part of the film. Nuff' said.

"A good homage to two of the best franchises ever."
First off, I just want to say that you guys are pretty cool for even doing a tie-in/spinoff of two of the greatest entertainment franchises; Evil Dead & The "Real" Ghostbusters. Though the two franchises can be somewhat horror filled, they can still be considered comedic films of a sort. Anyway, I loved the idea of having the Ghostbusters chase down the Necronomicon from the Evil Dead storyline. I also liked how you designed the characters for the Flash tribute to be 'SD'; It fit quite nicely, although the characters seemed kind of 'rushed', almost as if you couldn't quite decide how to design them. As for the sound, everything matched, although the voice acting was sometimes a bit loud. Perhaps you could turn down the volume for the voices in your next film? (Just a thought) Overall, this was a good flash film. It brought back an immediate sense on nostalgia, especially since I remember the days back when I was a young kid, watching the movie in a theater for the first time, getting hooked on the imagery and finally becoming quite a fan of the animated series. Thanks for bringing back the past and keeping it alive.
